Eddie Vetter’s Request
Written by: The Bridge on Wednesday, May 17th, 2006
Hi, you all who enjoy this Palmgrove, Nigeria site. Thanks for your prayers, encouragement and variety of insights or opinions. Now we have another request for you. This is a true support test! We are in desperate need of more help out here, so we hope this will knock on your hearts. We ask that you would work on your superiors and send us the few items listed below. You, yourself could organize it, get together with a couple of colonies and decide as to who buys or sends what, so it would be more economical. Empty spaces could be filled with eatmore bars, ball point pens etc.
Also, if you would be so kind, as to make sure that we know exactly when you send the DHL. If a package is left sitting too long here in this third world country, it has a tendency to disappear. A tracking number is also a must. That way they know you mean business.

Greetings Paul, Edward and the rest of the brethren. Tis always nice to hear from yous from this our God given mission field.
Concerning the partially blind boy, there is a missionary doctor at the the Aba Christian hospital near Aba where I was admitted while I was sick my last term in 2000 , his name is Doctor Witteker. He is a White Doctor from the U.S. Most of our people know this hospital. Doctor Wittiker is a good eye doc, and goes out into the deepest jungle to do eye operations on a daily basis. I am not sure what he charges, I don’t think it is much, cause he didn’t charge me anything for my weeks stay in his hospital, only for the drugs which was very minumal.
I’ll try to dig up his email that I think I have somewhere under my mountain of Nigeria stuffs .
Keep up the good work, and greet all my people.
God bless

Greetings Paul and Ed vetter
For most people trying to comprehend, working on a grader or any other machine without any kind of a tool is impossible as it really is. Storing tools in the tool shed is not always the best idea for safe keeping during, and from one mission group to the next, as they have a tendency to disappear somehow. When we had to buy a huge 4 ft pipe ranch for the water tower {was $50 U.S } I give it to Joseph Asukwa to store under his bed.
We have quite a few individuals , brothers and sisters in palmgrove who we could use for safe keeping of tools or whatever. Taught I’d pass this tip along. Also tip # 2, if you are desperate and IF you have Niara there is a place in Uyo on the main road in, turn left on napa road to this hot chicken spot that we all know about, just across the street there is this hardware store with all kinds of good tools. He is an importer from Europe, but then again you have to have Niara.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the men of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy2:6)
After reading the last few enteries, the above scripture is the reason I felt the need to share the below scripture with you all.
Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia:
that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality.
For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,
imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God.
So we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well.
But as you abound in everything- in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us-see that you abound in this grace also.(2 Corinthians8:1-7)
What then was the blessing you injoyed? For I bear witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your own eyes and given them to me. (Galatians4:15)
May we abound in this grace also!!

Greetings again today dear brethren.
Thanks for sharing about this partially blind boy. I know this young boy. we took him to a doctor after Rachel basel {crystal springs}give us some money before leaving for home. No follow up seems to have been done after this.
My friend , the manager of Agri-sales the Esso dealer from Mcgregor, pledged $300.00 for this boy. He gives me the check today. There are many good people out there who want to help and will also do so when they know what we are doing with their money.
This hutterite bridge blog, or what you call it, is a great thing. Please keep it up.

Usually it doesn’t effect us when our communities donate money to some cause. We go on living our comfortable
livestyles’. It’s not a sacrifice we feel, except for the “Haushalter” and maybe a few more. It’s another thing altogether for individuals to give up the little money they receive via “Zehr Geld,” or whatever other honest way. The things we usually see as need are actually far from it, so
I really amire the above individuals for this small, yet great sacrifice! God will surely bless them for it!!
Could anyone tell us the best way for individuals to donate money, if they feel the need and desire to do so? Thanks, it would be appreciated!!
