I haven’t read anything of the such, I think there have been lots of good words and encouragement throughout all the responds.

I haven’t come across any nasty comments…or are they not being published??! I am trying to figure out what is being meant with negative comments being left cause I have visited this space quite regularly.

I guess you folks started visiting the site when they weren’t being published anymore. You’re probably lucky…

The reason you haven’t seen them is that they have been removed. Sure you visit this sight everyday, but of course not every hour. Thankfully we don’t need to see it. Thanks to all the moderaters for the time they put in to keep this place representable. Lance I admire the way you are handling this. May God give you wisdom and discernment with whatever controversal issues or questions you may come across. Let’s remember everybody, BLESSED ARE THE PEACE KEEPERS!! That doesn’t mean not take a stand against wrong or that we shouldn’t ask questions if we don’t agree with something, but if our reason is not out of love and concern then we are not working for Jesus, but sadly for Satan. It’s as simple as that. So let’s be careful, especially if we consider ourselves Christians. I have learned the hard way!!

Let’s try to remember that Lance (and the rest of the audiece) prefers if we aren’t anonymous in our posts. It’s better if posts are signed. For one, I believe signing ensures that we carefully consider the contents of our posts and as a result, there will be fewer misunderstandings and fewer incidents of inappropiate commenting. It’s so easy and convenient to hide behind our computer screens, but let’s stand up when we speak. Even the shy ones!

They let us keep track of what’s going on and what they’re busy with in their absence (from home). Also I’d like to say thank you to the moderaters for their time and effort. Even if we don’t know who you are, you are quite necessary! May God keep you in His care…

I wanted to say how much I am enjoying the blog. I live in England and orignally heard about Palmgrove through the Bruderhof and often wondered how it was getting on. Please know that I am praying for you all and it brightens my day to see that are people who are still willing to do God’s work. Maybe one day I will get to vist a Hutterite Colony.

Thanks for the comments. If you didn’t get to see some of the negative comments that’s good, leave it at that. I don’t mind Anonymous post, but it means so much more if you can put a person to words. But we also understand that some people are shy about posting, so don’t worry about it. Just be honost about what you say, that way we all get more out of it.

Ich habe erst vor einigen Tagen diese interessanten Berichte aus Palmgrove gefunden und lese nun mit Interesse alle Neuigkeiten und auch Kommentare dazu von der anderen Seite des grossen Meeres.
Liebe Freunde in Palmgrove: euren Mut und eure Kraft, die ihr taeglich in das Projekt in Africa steckt, kann man nur bewundern. Und natuerlich beten wir auch hier in Oesterreich fuer euch, dass eure Plaene gelingen moegen und dass ihr noch viele Menschen davon ueberzeugen koennt, was man mit der Hilfe Gottes schaffen kann.
Und an alle Freunde in Kanada: einen herzlichen Gruss aus Oesterreich und hoert nicht auf Palmgrove im Gedanken und im Gebet zu unterstuetzen.

Sometimes people have a way of thinking that negative words are ‘negative’…is not so, cuz sometimes there is still truth in it and we as humans see them as negative, while sometimes we should take into account that there are questions and concerns hidden amongst the negativity that people don’t want to ask straight out or can’t help themselves doing (which would be lashing out)…I am not one who will post negative comments but have encouraged people to ask questions on here (regarding the mission to Africa) if they want answers…understandable ones that we can’t answer cuz we are not in the situation that those ‘abroad’ are in.

Well…some of the things that were posted could definitely be perceived as lashing out…especially by someone who is struggling with the Palmgrove situation everyday.

I’m sure it’s very discouraging for our missionaries when people are just being negative without using constructive criticism.

Let’s weigh our words…we will be held accountable for them…

criticism only works if the underlying motivation is to help someone see more clearly so that co-operation can flourish. it takes a tremendous amount of energy to build a community. sometimes, it doesn’t work out but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth trying. many things are learned even in so-called failure. i’m thankful that the hutterites are trying to obey the great commission in nigeria. just don’t teach them that they have to learn Hutterisch to go to heaven!!

To the moderators of this place: thanks for the wonderful work you do on this virtual place. The privilege for Hutterites to have a place on the web that serves as a hub for communication from as far away as Nigeria is phenonomal!

The Hutterites, as a distinct cultural group, value the culture of our Nigerian community. Fear not, the Palmgrove community will not be asked to “learn Hutterisch”. We ask nothing more then that our Nigerian brotherhood seek to live by what the Apostolic Fathers asked of the Gentile Christians in Acts 15:22-29.

Answer to bill kimbro bloger # 16, do we teach them hutterisch to enter heaven. I have been asked so many times by outsiders, do you teach them huttrisch, or what do you teach them? The answer is simple. We preach Christ. We teach them Christianity. Actually, if I tried to teach them one of our traditions I could not get one in edgewise, because the have so many of their own that they call culture.
